THE ONLY LIMITS SHOULD BE THE GOAL LINES

It’s that time of year again to file for your Permanent Fund Dividend!

The Scotty Gomez Foundation is proud to participate in the Pick.Click.Give. program, which helps us provide ice hockey gear to kids across Alaska. Every donation, big or small, makes a difference in creating opportunities for young athletes to enjoy the sport we all love.

Testimonials

Lifelong Impact.

"The foundation has really helped me get into the sport of hockey. I've always gone skating in the winter but growing up my parents didn't have the money for the large price tag organizations. The foundation really made a difference in my life allowing my brothers and I to play organized hockey."

- Kaden Abbott

  • "They helped with gear, bags, skates and everything when it came down to get started. Everyone that was part of the organization was like family. They got my son to skate had dedication to the youth players development on and off the ice. If it wasn’t for the Scotty Gomez foundation I truly believe my son wouldn’t be playing hockey today. And I am so grateful for the program to show support, discipline and dedication to the players, coaches and family. Thank you."

    - Charles & Heiden Britt

  • "The Gomez Foundation has supported students from West Anchorage High School in getting involved with hockey. For some, it’s their first time playing, while for others, it’s an opportunity to reconnect with the sport they love. The foundation has helped equip these students with the proper gear, ensuring they have what they need to participate."

    - Coach, Rob Larkey West High Hockey

  • "Scotty Gomez foundation/Rams had such a big impact on my life. I started playing hockey (a sport I otherwise would not have the opportunity to play) and its positives effects still follow me around today. They helped me during tough but fun teenage times and gave me something to keep me motivated. The memories, skills (which I still use to this day), and relationships are something I will forever cherish. I am forever thankful for the Scotty Gomez foundation, the Rams, and everyone who had a part in it!"

    - Martha Gallo

  • "My name is Jehovan Flores. I joined the Scotty Gomez foundation when I was 8 years old. I never thought about playing hockey until my dad asked me if I wanted to join. I said yes. Most of the time hockey is perceived as a rich man’s sport because well, it kind of is. SGF made if possible for anyone from any household income to afford it and even provided the hockey gear and equipment for no additional charge. Joining hockey has had a life long impact on me. It has not only made me physically tough but mentally as well. I am also forever grateful for the memories and the friends I made along the way. If I never joined hockey I would not be the man I am today."

  • "Some tears were shed, and as proud as I am of her, I know it's tough. Mimi has played for the Scotty Gomez Rams since the age of 4. She has been given so much support and love from her coaches, teammates, and their parents. You couldn't ask for a better experience than what she has had. After 9 seasons, she's hanging up her jersey and putting on a different one for the first time. Mimi will be playing for Team Alaska Girls Tier 1. The biggest congratulations to this little girl who loves the game and her Rams with her whole heart."

    - Amanda Ashton, Parent

  • "Jacob Ball started playing with your organization when we moved up to Alaska in 2016. Everyone welcomed him with open arms even though he barely learned how to skate.”

WHERE ARE THEY NOW?

Lifelong Friendship.

“The Scotty Gomez Foundation has helped me be the person I am today. Every single coach has had something new to teach me, and you can tell that our coaches and volunteers truly care. I have built so many lifelong friendships through my hockey community. It really is so much more than a game and I am so happy that I had the opportunity to play for an organization that knows that, and makes a way for every kid to have the chance to play hockey.”

– Sydney Babock, Alaska EMT

Giving Back To The Community.

“I am the person I am today because of the Scotty Gomez Foundation and all the people in it. The lesson and logic have helped me more in life than it actually did in hockey. It was never about hockey with the foundation, it was about allowing a group of people, most of which were minorities, a space to grow into themselves. The foundation taught all of whomever was a part of it the importance of giving back to the community. It wasn’t enough to be a good athlete, you had to be a decent human being.” –
